The 2017 Season Is Officially Here

April 14, 2017

Well, we are back from an awesome weekend at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park with lots of pictures to edit.  It was a great to get back to seeing the racing family and friends.  It was even better to have two days of exciting racing.  We have been waiting for what feels like for ever for the Icebreaker to get here, it was a long winter!!

To Josh Vanada and the whole crew at Thompson, we were impressed as usual with your professionalism and ability to show each and every fan a good time. The whole program ran smooth and flawlessly as always, something that we truly appreciate.

There are lots of exciting highlights from the weekend including seeing the recent finalist in the Search For A Champion, Brett ‘the Jet’ Gonyaw and the GMS Gonyaw Motorsports Team, put the number 81 in Victory lane for the sk light feature on Saturday.  Late caution lead to an exciting end to the feature and Brett earned his first win at Thompson.

Ryan Preece was able to start the Sunoco Modified season with a win at the Icebreaker on Sunday.  The Sunoco Modifieds are going to be a super exiting division, all you have to do it check out the roster and you will not want to miss any of those races.

And last but not least in the world of modified racing for the weekend, Ole Blue found her way back to Victory Lane with Rowan Pennick driving her home.  It was an exciting last 20 laps of the race with some crazy moves and strong driving but push came to shove it was a day for Ole Blue.  The Boehler Race Team put together a car that pulled away from the field early in the race and stayed strong all day.

So what is next for us?  We are still working our way through a pile of pictures from this past weekend.  With our new gear its taking us a bit longer to get things posted but pictures are coming soon, we promise!!

We are looking forward to our next race, Modified Touring Series at Mondadnock Speedway.  It will be the opening weekend for the track and as part of the opening show Gary Knight will be putting on the first race for the 2017 season for the Modified Touring Series.  The roster is looking strong already - it’s a show that we are looking forward to.  How may more days do we have to wait? #ModOn  MT
