Williams Takes MRS At Madog. Up Next MRS Returns To Claremont. Inaugural Bullring Bash And Lebanon Valley Tearing Up The Dirt Scene!

WINCHESTER NH: In the hills of Winchester New Hampshire, sits a track known best as “Mad Dog,” but more formally known as Monadnock Speedway. The Valenti Modified Racing Series (VMRS) made their 3rd stop of the season last Saturday with a showing of 19 cars. Mike Willis Jr, and Kirk Alexander would take down qualifying race wins, and set the front row for the 100 lap feature.

Neither of the first two starts would really show the way early, as Jeff Gallup would take the lead from Willis in the opening handful of laps, and set the pace from there on. TJ Bleau, who runs part time on the series would mount a challenge to Gallup up front and the two would go to battle until Bleau would inherit the lead. Benjamin Byrne, who earlier in the night would win the Sportsman Modified feature, would dominate the middle portion of the race in his Sportsmen Modified.  This was Byrne's  first time running a Tour Type race and he looked to be a favorite at lap 50 for the win. A string of cautions would help a driver who started in heavy traffic, Ronnie Williams, who was running in the Gary Casella owned #25. Williams would patiently work his way through the field until lap 74, where Williams would take the lead with his experience of waiting on when to go as it looked Byrne used up his car to early. In the last few laps of the race there would be some intentional contact and drama between Mike Willis and Jeff Gallup. Even with the countless cautions at the end of the race, Williams would not be denied and would take down the win followed by Kirk Alexander, and Cameron Sontag.

This Friday, the VMRS takes on Claremont Speedway in Claremont NH, as two drivers that call the track home are tied up at the points standings.  Drivers Dylan Rock, and Mike Willis are currently all tied up at 173 a piece followed by Jeff Gallup. Woody Pitkat is one driver who is expected to be pulling double duty this weekend.  The #6 team is expected to be competing both in the VMRS on Friday at Claremont and the Bullring Bash on Sunday at White Mountain as well.

NORTH WOODSTOCK NH- Also in action on this busy racing weekend, this Sunday is the Inaugural Bullring Bash at White Mountain Motorsports Park. This event run by former GM of Operations at Thompson Speedway, Josh Vanada and looks to be promising as a whole for Modified and Legend car teams all around the Northeast. With many types of modifieds able to race per the rules to allow for a wide variety of Modifieds to compete - Sportsman, SK, and Tour Type with every engine configuration.  If 20 or more cars start the Bullring Bash Round 1: Battle at the Banks on Sunday, title sponsor RaceChoice will offer a $2,500 shopping spree to the driver finishing in the 13th position overall! The Mod features winner pays $5,000 to win and the Legend Car feature $1,500. Vanada would tell Mod Squad "We are seeking to provide Modified and Legend teams with the highest quality product anywhere. We want fans who walk away from a Bullring race to say, "Wow, that was awesome." We want the tracks that host Bullring to view it as one of the premiere events on their calendar every year."

The Mod races are two 50 lapper segments and one 25 lapper. The winner will also be qualified for the big Open Wheel Wednesday Tri-Track Race at Seekonk in a couple weeks. While it is unsure who will be in attendance due to no entry list being released but Andy Jankowiack, Woody Pitkat, Russ Hersey Sal Accardi, Joey Jarvis are a few that have said they are planning on racing. A good field of some of the Northeast’s top Legend drivers are expected to battle in the 35 lap feature. "What makes Bullring unique are two things: (1) We rank high when you rank the biggest paying Modified races in New England. (2) Our race format is different with segment style racing. We aren't running a straight 100 or 125 laps." Founder Josh Vanada told Mod Squad Racing Media. When we asked Josh about White Mountain Motorsports Park this is what he had to say, " White Mountain is a really racy track. It's high-banked, and has two grooves. It's well-kept, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We're looking forward to introducing folks who haven't been there to the beautiful facility!"  We are excited to see all the work Josh and his team have done for this event and wish them good luck and great things and hope to see you there! #ModOn #ShortTrackNation
